Statement of Purpose

The mission of Forestburg ISD is to ensure a safe, positive, supportive and nurturing environment in which to educate all students. Through a commitment to the use of highly reliable standards integrated with technology we will develop knowledgeable thinkers prepared to be successful in their adult lives.

FISD recognizes the importance in developing and maintaining partnerships with parents and community members. A positive link between community, home, and school will create the best learning environmemt possible for every student.

We know that open communication lines

expand and enhance learning opportunities for all students!

Grade level learning objectives and goals will be distributed to parents at the beginning of the school year. All students will be expected to work toward mastering these objectives. Our district recognizes the fact that some students will need extra assistance to achieve their full potential. That extra assistance is available to all students through the Title I Program and various other educational services.

Forestburg ISD strives to include parents in all aspects of the Title I program. Students will be given every opportunity for success through the development and enhancement of the

Parent-Student-Teacher Partnership.

Parental Involvement in Developing Policy

The Site Based Decision Making Team is comprised of parents, community members, administrators, teachers, and other staff members. This committee meets annually to evaluate various programs including community and parent involvement.

Pre-Kindergarten
Family Engagement Plan

Forestburg Elementary provides a safe environment for every child. Our Pre-K program helps students achieve high levels of academic excellence as productive, self-motivated, competitive, independent thinkers.

We understand that strong family engagement in early childhood promotes a child's intellectual, physical, social emotional developmentprepares a child for school, and supports academic achievement in Elementary School and beyond.

The best predictor of student achievement is a family unit that creates a home environment which encourages learning, communicates high yet reasonable expectations for a child's achievement, and becomes involved in the child's education at school.

Families are encouraged to volunteer in classrooms and participate in family nights. Every staff member aims to build respectful and trusting relationships with families within our school.
